★ About Councilman Harrison

From Plumber to
Public Servant

"Councilman Harrison's story is Prince George's County's story — a journey of faith, hard work, and an unshakeable commitment to community."

Over the past seven years, Councilman Sydney Harrison had the distinct honor to serve as the County Council representative for District 9. In 2014, he was elected to serve as the Clerk of the Circuit Court and as District 27 At-Large representative for the Democratic Central Committee. A native Prince Georgian, serving the citizens of this great County has been one of Councilman Harrison's greatest honors.

As the District 9 Council representative, Councilman Harrison worked to deliver more than 2,500 jobs, expand Brandywine's Town Activity Center, and support small business growth throughout District 9. He championed the construction of two new schools in southern Prince George's County and secured $9 million for the design and redevelopment of the historic Wilmer's Park. He also delivered more than $50 million in roadway infrastructure improvements to District 9.

Councilman Harrison is also a published author of "Soul Searcher: One Man's Quest to Discover His True Identity," reflecting his personal journey and commitment to self-awareness and purpose-driven living. His humanitarian work extends globally — including three self-funded missions to remote villages of Africa (installing water systems and building community infrastructure).
